Flames recall Michael Ferland and Emile Poirier from Adirondack

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled forwards Michael Ferland and Emile Poirier from the Adirondack Flames of the American Hockey League.

The Flames also announced that forward Paul Byron has been placed on Injured Reserve and that forward Matt Stajan is on leave (non-roster) for the expectant birth of his child.

Ferland, a native of Brandon, Manitoba has played 10 games with Calgary so far this season and recorded his first NHL point and two PIMs.

ACQUIRED: 5th round, 133rd overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft

Poirier, a first round pick (22nd overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, has played in 42 games for Adirondack this season and scored 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points. The native of Montreal, Quebec is also leading the AHL’s Flames with a +11 rating.
