Flames recall Karlsson from Abbotsford

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today they have recalled goaltender Henrik Karlsson from the Abbotsford Heat where he was playing on a two-week conditioning loan. Also, they have assigned goaltender Leland Irving to the Heat.

Karlsson, a native of Tumba, Sweden, was originally acquired by the Flames from San Jose at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Calgary’s 6th round pick in the 2010 Draft. Karlsson played 17 games for the Flames last season earning a 4-5-6 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.58 GAA. He has appeared in 6 games for the Flames this season. During his conditioning stint with the Heat, Karlsson posted a 2-2-0 record and a 2.26 GAA with a .903 save percentage.
