CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled goaltender Joni Ortio from their AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat. The Flames also announced that they have placed goaltender Karri Ramo on injured reserve.
The 24-year-old has played in 20 games for Stockton in 2015-16 and is 9-9-0. Ortio also played four games for the Flames to start the season and was 0-2-0 when he was assigned to the Heat. The Finnish netminder was Calgary’s sixth round pick (171st overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft and his four wins (including a shutout) in 2014-15 played a key role in the Flames making the Stanley Cup playoffs.
