CALGARY, AB -- Join the Calgary Flames, Scotiabank and the Canadian Women’s Hockey League for an exciting hockey day to watch the Calgary Inferno face off against the Brampton Thunder at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday, March 16th, 2014. Admission is FREE. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. with puck drop at 11 a.m.
The Calgary Inferno came out on fire in 2013-14, and have made franchise history by qualifying for the Clarkson Cup for the very first time. While the team has had significant contributions across the board, rookie Danielle Stone has led the Inferno in lighting the lamp. The Calgary Inferno might not be done making franchise history this season, as they could still finish as high as second place in the CWHL regular season standings with wins vs. Brampton this weekend.
Canadian Womens’ Hockey Team Olympic gold medalists Meaghan Mikkelson and Tara Watchorn will be on site in the Avison Young Club signing autographs in section 118 during the first intermission for fans and both will also participate in a ceremonial puck drop.
The Flames and the Scotiabank Saddledome will be bringing all elements from their NHL game night entertainment package to fans with giveaways all game long. In November 2013 the Calgary Flames announced their partnership as major supporters of the CWHL’s Calgary team. This year the Calgary Inferno debuted new jerseys and a new logo resembling the Calgary Flames.
Parking is free in lot A and in the parkade on the Northeast side of the Scotiabank Saddledome. Patrons are requested to enter through the Northeast Avison Young Club entrance.
