CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames and the Flames Foundation for Life are proud to partner with CTRL-F (Calgary-Teamwork-Respect-Leadership-Fun) Hockey Camp taking place this weekend, Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th at the SAIT Campus.
The hockey camp created and coordinated by SportsNet’s Rob Kerr will be hosted for youth from the Flames EvenStrength Program, and HEROS (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society). The two day camp will include on-ice instruction, classroom instruction, hockey presentations, sport activities and a big league experience game for players. Sven Baertschi from the Calgary Flames will attend the camp on Sunday for a ceremonial puck-drop and to sign autographs for the students.
“For the second year in a row I am extremely proud of how my friends in the local sports media and the Calgary hockey community have come together to help give kids, who might not normally get a chance like this, a once in a lifetime hockey experience,” said Kerr.
Players will receive instruction and activities based on the principles of teamwork, leadership and respect in sport. Representatives from local media outlets, the SAIT Trojans hockey team, ERT Medical staff and community groups will volunteer as instructors and assist on both days.
