Calgary, AB – The Flames Better Halves, wives and girlfriends of the Calgary Flames players, are continuing a special Christmas initiative in partnership with Coca-Cola for the 2009 holiday season with the sale of limited edition Christmas tree ornaments at upcoming games.
Ornaments will be on sale on the concourse of the Pengrowth Saddledome at upcoming home Flames games this Wednesday, December 9th and Friday, December 11th.
The fourth annual collectable edition is an ornament sized Flames and Coca-Cola stocking. All proceeds benefit the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames; The Flames Foundation for Life and will be sold for $10.
The Better Halves and Coca-Cola will also be raffling off a Christmas tree including a set of 23 stockings, each one with a hockey card autographed by a Flames player inside. Raffle tickets are $5 each or free with the purchase of two ornaments.
The group has been active in the Calgary community since the club’s arrival in 1980 and has been behind numerous fundraising events during that period.
The Flames Foundation for Life is at the heart of all Flames fundraising efforts and has already directed over $32 million in funding to education, medical research, health, amateur sport and recreation. Last season the Flames Better Halves initiatives raised over $130,000 for the Flames Foundation for Life.
