Flames host Jets on Thursday

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames host the Winnipeg Jets in their last pre-season game at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday night.

Game time is set for 7:00 PM MT with Sportsnet 960 The FAN carrying the radio broadcast.

The Flames haven't had much luck converting on the power play in recent exhibition games, going 0-for-10 in their last three outings. Head coach Bob Hartley is hoping to get his special teams systems clicking in the remaining few games.

"We need to be better," he said on Wednesday. "That's where you win games. That's where you lose games. There's no secrets on this.

"You play solid five-on-five, you don't give too much defensively and you're penalty killing shuts down the opponent. Then your power play gives you a goal or two every game? You're going to be tough team to beat."

In the 2013-14 season series between the Flames and Jets, veteran forward Jiri Hudler led Calgary in scoring with two goals and three points in three games. TJ Brodie, with one goal and three points in three games, and Lance Bouma, who netted two goals in three games, trailed Hudler.

The Flames trimmed their camp roster to 33 players (3 goaltenders, 10 defencemen, 20 forwards) on Wednesday.
