Calgary, AB – Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla and veteran forward Tony Amonte led their respective teams as the Ridge and Lynx course winners at the Calgary Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic held Wednesday at the Country Hills Golf Club.

Due to unfavorable weather, the tournament was cut short to nine holes with two winning groups, one on each of the Ridge and Lynx courses at Country Hills Golf Club.

Over 300 golfers participated in the 26th annual tournament raising a record $285,000 for the Flames Foundation for Life. Since its inception 26 years ago, the tournament has raised $2.78 million for local charities.

This year, funds raised will go towards the recently announced Flames Foundation for Life -- a foundation that builds on the philosophy of the original Flames Foundation and is dedicated to the following four pillars:

Rotary/Flames House, Rotary/Flames Park at Ronald McDonald House, Rotary/Flames for Medical Advancement and Amateur Sports & Grassroots Initiatives.

The Calgary Flames have extended this commitment through an exciting new partnership with Rotary known as the "Rotary/Flames Gift to the Community" and a $10 million injection of funds.

Celebrities for the tournament included Calgary Flames players, NHL alumni, Olympians and local media personalities.
