TORONTO (CP) - Thomas Beauregard of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Matt Keetley, a Calgary Flames draft pick currently playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers, are the Canadian Hockey League players of the week.
Beauregard earned the player of the week award after recording eight goals and two assists in four games while Keetley's back-to-back shutouts earned him top goaltender honours.
Beauregard started the week with an assist in the Titans' 4-3 loss to Lewiston on Nov. 7. He added two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Quebec Remparts the following day before capping the week with back-to-back hat tricks in a 7-0 win over the Rimouski Oceanic on Saturday and a 5-1 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Sunday.
Keetley, 20, led the Tigers to a 4-0-0-0 record, while recording a 1.22 goals against average and a .932 save percentage in four starts last week.
The Medicine Hat, Alta., native made 20 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over Prince Albert on Nov. 8. He followed up with 15 saves in a 4-0 win over Regina two nights later. On Nov. 11, he recorded his second consecutive shutout, leading the Tigers to a 3-0 win over Brandon. Keetley then finished the week with a 6-2 win over Moose Jaw on Nov. 12.
