Flames Foundation & Rona roll up their sleeves for Dover community rink

CALGARY, AB -- The Flames Foundation for Life and RONA are thrilled to announce the second annual Flames and RONA rink renovation project. This year the outdoor arena in the Southeast community of Dover, Calgary will receive a much needed facelift. The community of Dover will turn 40 this year; RONA and the Flames Foundation for Life are looking forward to helping them celebrate.

In addition, ENMAX Corporation generously funded the upgrade to an LED lighting system. Flames, RONA and ENMAX Corporation staff will kick off the renovations to the outdoor facility tomorrow, Wednesday, September 26th with nearly 100 staff members taking the day to pitch in where they can.

Completion of the arena renovations are scheduled for the middle of October. This will be the second RONA and Flames Foundation for Life renovation project. In October 2011 renovations to the Whitehorn arena were unveiled which included laying new asphalt, upgrades to the lighting system, complete replacement of the rinkboards and painting the storage space for equipment.

Through various initiatives, the Calgary Flames Hockey Club and their charitable arm; the Flames Foundation for Life, continue to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation.
