CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames and the Flames Better Halves head into December with an action-packed week of community initiatives.

Ice to Ovens: Recipes from Kitchens of the Calgary Flames Presented by Calgary Co-op

The Calgary Flames Better Halves, Flames players significant others, will be selling cookbooks featuring their favourite family recipes. Cookbooks are on-sale throughout two Flames home games with proceeds benefitting the Flames Foundation for Life.

Date: Tuesday, December 6th and Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Location: Scotiabank Saddledome concourse, section 227

FanAttic Meet and Greet

Fans are invited to a meet and greet with Flames forward Brendan Morrison and defenceman T.J. Brodie at the North Hill Centre FanAttic. Players will be available for autographs and attendees can also have their gift wrapped for a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Glencross Jersey Retirement in Brooks

Curtis Glencross will be in Brooks for a pre-game celebration to retire his jersey. Glencross played in the AJHL with the Brooks Bandits in 2000-2002.

Through various initiatives, the Calgary Flames Hockey Club and their charitable arm; the Flames Foundation for Life, continue to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation.

Further the above personal commitments all Flames players continue to be actively involved in team fundraisers and community programs such as Pond Hockey by Enmax Energy, Flames Ambassador Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament, Danone SuperSkills, Alberta Children’s Hospital wheelchair hockey and various charitable and community appearances through the Flames Foundation for Life and community relations programming.
