DEVILS (9-9-2) at FLAMES (12-7-2)
TV: SN, MSG+
Season series: The Calgary Flames swept two games from the New Jersey Devils in 2013-14, including a 3-2 victory on Oct. 11, 2013, in New Jersey's most recent visit to Scotiabank Saddledome. The Flames have won three in a row against the Devils.
Devils team scope: This game is a homecoming for New Jersey forward Mike Cammalleri, who signed with the Devils as a free agent during the summer after spending the previous two-plus seasons with the Flames. He had 26 goals for Calgary last season and has scored seven for New Jersey. The Devils have split the first two games of a four-game trip that concludes Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks. Cory Schneider has started in each of New Jersey's first 20 games, breaking the team record of 19 set by Martin Brodeur in 2001-02. He looked none the worse for wear Friday, when he made 29 saves in a 2-0 victory against the Edmonton Oilers. "We controlled the game [in the second period], got two goals and I think we took a lot of their momentum and fight away," Schneider said. Coach Peter DeBoer said he doesn’t know if he'll start Schneider or backup Scott Clemmensen against the Flames.
Flames team scope: This is the finale of a five-game homestand for Calgary, which won the first three before a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. With five of their forwards out with injuries, Calgary recalled forward Corban Knight from the Adirondack Flames of the American Hockey League. Coach Bob Hartley said Friday he will continue to rotate his goaltenders, meaning Karri Ramo will play against the Devils and Jonas Hiller, who lost against Chicago, will start on Tuesday, when the Flames begin a road trip with a game against the Anaheim Ducks.
