Flames close out busy three days in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, BC -- The Calgary Flames will cap off their three-games-in-three-nights stretch with a battle against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.

The puck drops at 8:00 PM MT and will be broadcast on Sportsnet One (television) and Sportsnet 960 The FAN (radio).

The Flames will likely have 2014 first round pick Sam Bennett back in their lineup tonight. The 18-year-old made his pre-season debut on Thursday in Calgary, registering an assist and a game-high seven shots on net.

"I think my first couple of shifts I was a little nervous," he said afterwards. "I wasn’t too sure what to expect. As the game went on, I felt a lot more confident. The boys were really supporting me and giving me advice."

Head coach Bob Hartley was supremely impressed with his young charge and heaped praise on Bennett in his post-game media address.

"He was our best forward," Hartley surmised. "This guy can change sides on a dime. He was exciting. He was on the puck. He was creating lots of chances.

"It’s only a first game but it’s quite a good impression."

The Canucks will ice a veteran-laden lineup tonight that includes the likes of the Sedins, Kevin Bieksa, Dan Hamhuis, Radim Vrbata, and Ryan Miller. They also will have 2013 first rounder Bo Horvat in their lineup.
