Calgary Flames forward Alex Tanguay
led his team as the low gross winners at the Calgary Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic held Thursday, September 8th. This year’s golf tournament took place at two different golf courses – Links of GlenEagles and Country Hills Golf Club with over 375 golfers total at the two courses.
The 31st Annual Charity Classic in support of the Flames Foundation for Life raised over $350,000. Since its inception 30 years ago, the tournament has raised over $4.8 million for local charities.
Another highlight of the day came from Rene Bourque’s group when Patrick Kenny won $25,000 after shooting a hole in one, sponsored by Truman Insurance, at Country Hills Golf Club. LOW NET WINNER

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Flames Foundation for Life. The Flames Foundation for Life is the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames through which millions of dollars in funding has already been directed to education, medical research, amateur sport and recreation.
