Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic raises over $365,000

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic presented by Scotiabank held Tuesday, September 10th was a great success for the Flames Foundation for Life raising over $365,000. This year the Flames Foundation for Life will direct funds raised from the tournament to the Canadian Red Cross flood relief and Kids Cancer Care Foundation’s, Camp Kindle.

Over 360 golfers participated at the event which occurred at two courses, The Hamptons and Country Hills. Following a beautiful day of golf, the participants met back at the Red and White Club for prizes and dinner. Calgary Flames prospects Paul Byron and Corban Knight took home prizes for longest drive and Mike Cammalleri and Mark Cundari’s teams won the tournament as the low gross and low net winners.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Flames Foundation for Life. The Flames Foundation for Life is the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames through which millions of dollars in funding have already been directed to education, medical research, amateur sport and recreation. Since its inception 33 years ago, the tournament has raised over $5 million for local charities.
