Flames Better Halves set to fund-raise for Lokomotiv families

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames and the Flames Better Halves are excited to announce a fundraising initiative to help the families of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team that were affected by the tragic plane crash that took place on September 7th in Russia.

The fundraising initiative spearheaded by Katerina Jokinen and Kodette LaBarbera, wife of Coyotes goaltender Jason LaBarbera, has also been supported by many of the NHL teams. The Flames participation includes the sale of two bracelets; custom made silicon wrist bands and beaded bracelets.

The Flames Better Halves, wives and girlfriends of Flames players, will be selling both bracelets on Thursday, October 20th on the concourse of the Scotiabank Saddledome when the Flames take on the New York Rangers. Wrist bands with the words “LOVE FOR LOKOMOTIV” and the Flames logo embossed on red silicon bands are $10.00. The ladies will also be selling a limited number of beaded bracelets; $25.00 for youth and $50.00 for adult beaded bracelets. All sales will take place in section 227 on the concourse of the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Calgary Flames will match the amount raised by the Flames Better Halves up to $25,000. All proceeds will be directed to the families affected by the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team plane crash. Fans can also purchase bracelets at
