TV: SNW; FS-SW
Season series: The Dallas Stars are trying for a three-game sweep of the Calgary Flames. Dallas defeated Calgary 4-3 in a shootout at Scotiabank Saddledome last Wednesday.
Flames team scope: Calgary enters the penultimate week of the season in third place in the Pacific Division, one point ahead of the Los Angeles Kings, after a 5-2 road victory against the Central Division-leading Nashville Predators on Sunday. Lance Bouma scored twice and Jonas Hiller made 27 saves to move the Flames past the Kings, who have played one fewer game. "I thought it was a great effort all around," Bouma said. "I thought all four lines were really going well and all of the D-men were playing well and [goaltender Jonas Hiller] was great behind us, so it was a solid effort throughout." Calgary has split the first two games of a five-game trip that continues with visits to the St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers.
Stars team scope: Dallas returned home with a chance to keep its flickering hopes of qualifying for the Stanley Cup Playoffs alive after a 4-3 overtime win against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The Stars have won five of their past six games and are six points behind the Winnipeg Jets, who hold the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. Dallas is home to the Flames and Blues this week before playing its next three games on the road, including a two-game visit to California.
