FLAMES ASSIGN JON GILLIES TO STOCKTON

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned goalie Jon Gillies to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

Gillies, a 23-year-old goalie, has played in eight games with the Heat this season recording four wins, one shutout, and sports a 2.50 GAA. In 39 games with the Heat last season, Gillies notched 18 wins, one shutout, and posted a 2.93 GAA. Gillies saw some action in Wednesday night's game in Detroit stopping 9 of 12 shots in 34:53 of ice time.
