Flames assign defenceman Ryan Culkin to Abbotsford Heat

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned defenceman Ryan Culkin to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Culkin, a native of Montreal, Quebec, played in 65 games total with the Quebec Remparts and Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL) this season, and registered a career high of 50 points (8-42-50) and 44 penalty minutes. Culkin is a fifth round pick (124th overall) of the Calgary Flames in the 2012 NHL Draft.
