Flames assign Aliu to Abbotsford

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned right winger Akim Aliu to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Aliu played in his first two NHL games during his recall to Calgary, recording two goals and an assist. Born in Okene, Nigeria, Aliu has 10 goals and four assists for 14 points and 55 penalty minutes in 40 games since joining the Abbotsford Heat on January 30th, 2012.
