Flames all over television in 08-09

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames and Shaw Communications announced today they will have 10 televised broadcasts of Flames pay-per-view games during the 2008-09 season.

With the 10 game Flames pay-per-view schedule, the Calgary Flames will have 83 of their 89 game schedule (including preseason) broadcast on television by Sportsnet (48+1 preseason), CBC (13), and TSN (11), which will be the highest number in franchise history.

“We are proud to announce a record number of televised Flames games with an exciting 83 game package,” said Flames Vice-President of Marketing & Advertising, Jim Bagshaw. “With the majority of our games broadcast in High Definition, we strive to meet the demands of our fan base with this enhanced television product.”

Flames pay-per-view broadcasts will bring the fan closer to the team through unique and non-traditional behind the scene access. The broadcast team will provide in-depth analysis on the team and the NHL while introducing the Flames to the fan on a more personal level.

Rob Kerr will make his Flames play-by-play debut on Thursday, October 23rd in Nashville calling the action for all Flames Pay-Per-View games this season and will be joined by colour analyst Charlie Simmer, former NHL great and famed member of the “Triple Crown” line.

To catch all the Flames action, customers must have a Shaw Digital Terminal available for purchase through Shaw retail centres or local retailers. Rental options are also available.

For more details on the Flames Pay-Per-View Packages or to order Shaw Digital, call 1-888-472-2222 or visit SHAW.CA or order from the link on www.calgaryflames.com

Flames pay-per-view games will be available in HD with further information regarding HD carriers available soon.
