CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames forward Micheal Ferland and Flames’ mascot Harvey the Hound will join kids and their families who have benefitted from the specialized care of the Alberta Children’s Hospital tomorrow afternoon to serve Blizzards as part of the 13th annual Miracle Treat Day.
All proceeds from Blizzard Treats sold at participating Dairy Queens in southern Alberta and any monetary gifts made in store will be donated to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation where more than 90,000 kids rely on care from the Alberta Children’s Hospital each year.
Miracle Treat Day is a one-day, national fundraising event that donates 100 per cent of proceeds from all Blizzard Treats sold to local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network. Last year, more than $400,000 was raised for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation during Miracle Treat Day, bringing the total raised to more than $4.6 million in support of the hospital’s highest priority needs.
Children’s Miracle Network and Dairy Queen Canada have partnered for more than 20 years to support local children’s hospitals.
Media are invited to attend.
