FACING THE SABRES

This evening's contest is the first of two meetings between the Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres this year. They will wrap up their season series on Nov. 21 when the Flames make a stop in Buffalo.

The Flames hold a 8-2-0 record against the Sabres in their last 10 games at the Scotiabank Saddledome and have won their last six games against Buffalo in Calgary.

2015-16 SEASON SERIES SCORING LEADERS

Sean Monahan led all skaters with five points in a pair of games last season. Monahan is also riding a five-game point streak against Buffalo and has four goals and eight points over that span.

Dougie Hamilton (one goal, two assists), Johnny Gaudreau (one goal, one assist), Mark Giordano (two assists), and Garnet Hathaway (two assists) recorded two or more points against the Sabres last year.

JOHNSON'S START

Former Sabre Chad Johnson made his Flames debut on Saturday in Vancovuer, turning aside 30 of the 31 shots he faced in the 2-1 shootout setback, leaving him with a .968 save percentage. He is expected to get the start against his old team tonight.
