FACING THE PREDS

Tonight is the first of three games between the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators this year. The two teams will meet again on Feb. 21 and Mar. 23 in Nashville. Johnny Gaudreau led all skaters in last year's season series, which saw the Flames go 2-1-0, with five points in three skates.

In their last 10 home games against the Predators, the Flames are 7-3-0. The two teams have traded wins in their last four meetings at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS VS. NASHVILLE

Micheal Ferland played his first NHL game in Nashville on Oct. 31, 2014 and also scored his first NHL goal against the Predators, with that milestone dating back to Mar. 29, 2015.

QUICK STRIKE

As per Elias Sports Bureau, that is the quickest pair of goals scored in the NHL this season. Backlund's pair of tallies were the quickest two goals scored by a Flames player since Johnny Gaudreau scored a pair against Nashville on Mar. 9, 2016.
