Notes ahead of tonight's Flames vs. Oilers match-up at the Scotiabank Saddledome

THE BATTLE OF ALBERTA

Tonight's game is the fourth and final contest between the Flames and Oilers in the 2016-17 campaign. The Flames are 0-2-1 in this year's season series, dropping their first two games against the Oilers in regulation and falling 2-1 in a shootout last Saturday. In their last 10 games against Edmonton, the Flames hold a 5-4-1 record.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS VS. EDMONTON

Mikael Backlund picked up his NHL assist against the Oilers on Jan. 30, 2010.

TJ Brodie and Matthew Tkachuk made their NHL debuts against Edmonton, with Brodie's coming on Oct. 7, 2010 and Tkachuk skating in his first game on Oct. 12, 2016.

MONY, MONY

Sean Monahan has scored in the last four games, matching a career-high goal-scoring streak. The pivot is one game shy of tying Backlund's season-high five-game goal scoring run from Dec. 23 - Jan. 4.

Monahan now has 14 goals on the season, tying Backlund for the team lead. He is second in team scoring with 29 points in 48 skates.

DOUGIE'S RUN

With a pair of assist in Thursday's loss to the Nashville Predators, Dougie Hamilton has six points in his last five games. He leads all Calgary skaters with 22 assists and is fifth in team scoring with seven goals and 29 points on the year.

Hamilton is one of just three NHL players who has played 45-or-more games and has at least one shot in all of those games.

Dennis Wideman needs 1 game for 800 and 3 goals for 100.

Johnnu Gaudreau needs 2 games for 200.

Alex Chiasson needs 4 points for 100.
