Notes ahead of tonight's Flames vs. Kings match-up at the Scotiabank Saddledome

THE FLAMES-KINGS SEASON SERIES

Tonight's game marks the third time the Flames and Kings will meet this year. The Flames are 1-1-0 thus far in the five-game season series, dropping a 5-0 decision in LA on Nov. 5 and picking up a 2-1 overtime win in Calgary on Feb. 28. In last month's victory, Micheal Ferland scored in regulation, TJ Brodie potted the game-winning goal in overtime and Brian Elliott made 26 saves. 

In their last six home games against the Kings, the Flames are 4-1-1.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS VS. LA

Lance Bouma made his NHL debut against LA on Feb. 5, 2011.

Alex Chiasson, as a member of the Dallas Stars, collected his first NHL assist against the Kings on Apr. 9, 2013.

Johnny Gaudreau's first career hat trick came in LA on Dec. 22, 2014.

CHASING VERNON

On Friday, Elliott collected his 10th consecutive win and is now one win away from tying Mike Vernon's franchise record of 11 straight victories, set between Jan. 17-Feb. 27, 1989. 

Since Jan. 26, Elliott has a 14-1-1 record with a 1.87 GAA and a .936 save percentage.

GIO'S PRODUCTION

Since Jan. 26, Giordano has scored five goals and 11 points and has a plus-16 rating during that run. He is coming off of a three-point game against the Stars on Friday and netted his third game-winning tally in the victory - a new career-high. As per Flames public relations coordinator Greger Buer, Calgary is 6-0-0 in games Giordano registers two-or-more points. In addition, Giordano has scored or assisted on the game-winning goals in those six skates.
