Notes ahead of tonight's Flames vs. Coyotes match-up at the Scotiabank Saddledome

FINISHING UP THE SEASON SERIES

Tonight's game is the final meeting between the Calgary Flames and Arizona Coyotes in the 2016-17 regular season. The Flames have a 4-0-0 record against Arizona this year and have outscored the Coyotes 12-6 in those victories. Michael Frolik and Matthew Tkachuk lead the Flames with four points each against Arizona.

The Flames have a strong record against the Coyotes at the Scotiabank Saddledome, going 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and owning an 55-30-9-1-1 all-time home record against Arizona. 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS VS. ARIZONA

Mikael Backlund scored his first NHL goal against the Coyotes on Jan. 28, 2010.

Kris Versteeg, as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, made his NHL debut against Arizona on Nov. 22, 2007 and scored his first NHL goal and assist against them as well, dating back to Jan. 3, 2008.

ALMOST AMONGST ELITE COMPANY

Sean Monahan is one goal shy of hitting 100 in his young career. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Monahan (currently 22 years and 124 days old) will become the sixth-youngest active NHLer to 100 goals with his next score, joining Steven Stamkos (100 goals in 20 years, 316 days), Sidney Crosby (21y, 72d), Jaromir Jagr (21y, 261d), Alex Ovechkin (22y, 25d), and Patrick Kane (22y, 115d).

BACKLUND'S STREAK

Backlund heads into tonight's game on a three-game point streak. The 27-year-old centre leads the Flames with 38 points this year.
