HOCKEY DAY IN CANADA

Today marks the Scotiabank Hockey Day In Canada event, with all seven Canadian clubs facing off throughout the day. Kenora, ON will be hosting this year's celebration, with a live broadcast of Coaches Corner with Don Cherry and Ron MacLean taking place in their arena and the day's broadcast featuring plenty of local stories.

CLASHING WITH THE CANUCKS

Tonight's tilt is the final match-up in a five-game season series with the Vancouver Canucks. Calgary is 2-1-1 against their divisional rivals this year, collecting their two wins on home ice. Michael Frolik and Mikael Backlund lead the Flames with five points each against the Canucks. Dougie Hamilton, Mark Giordano and Matthew Tkachuk trail the pair with three points each against Vancouver.

In their last 10 meetings with the Canucks, the Flames are 7-2-1. They have won six of their last eight games against Vancouver, outscoring the Canucks 29-16 in that stretch.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS VS. VANCOUVER

Johnny Gaudreau made his NHL debut in Vancouver on Apr. 13, 2014. He also scored his first NHL goal in that game.

Mark Giordano picked up his first NHL assist against the Canucks on Apr. 8, 2006.

CHUCKY'S ON A ROLL

Matthew Tkachuk scored the tying goal and assisted on TJ Brodie's game-winner in Monday's 3-1 win over the Flyers, give him his second two-point game in his last four skates. The 19-year-old now has five points in his last four games and he sits tied for second among rookies in assists (25) and fifth in points 36. Tkachuk is second in team scoring, trailing just Backlund in the Flames' scoring race.

BARTKOWSKI INKED

The Flames signed veteran defenceman Matt Bartkowski to a two-year, two-way deal this past week. He could be in the lineup tonight but head coach Glen Gulutzan hadn't confirmed his roster as of Friday afternoon. "I'm not sure yet. I'm going to sleep on that one. We wanted to make sure he got through a good practice here. Yesterday we kind of gave him our 5-on-5. Bart's familiar with a lot of what we do. We're gonna go over the penalty kill plan with him today and then we'll make a decision (Saturday) on what our lineup will be. It'll be him or (Jokipakka)."

With Bartkowski signed, the Flames assigned Brett Kulak to the Stockton Heat on Friday.

Sean Monahan needs 1 goal for 100.

Michael Frolik needs 2 points for 300.
