ELLIOTT'S FIRST W
Last night, Brian Elliott collected his first win as a Flame with a 3-2 shootout victory against the Chicago Blackhawks. He made 31 saves on 33 shots and was perfect in the seven-round shootout. Elliott was acquired by the Flames from the St. Louis Blues at the 2016 NHL Draft, with a 2016 second round pick and a conditional 2018 third round pick going back to the Blues. Last year, he went 23-8-2 with St. Louis, posting a 2.07 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
Tonight is the Flames' second game of a back-to-back set. They play 10 sets of back-to-backs this season, with one pair already wrapped up; the Flames hosted the Edmonton Oilers in their home opener on Oct. 14 and then played against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Oct. 15.
