Dreams come true at Saddledome

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames, Flames Foundation for Life and Hockey Canada are proud to
Mark Giordano
host along with Hockey Calgary, Hockey Alberta and Tuxedo Sports Dreams Come True.

Through the Flames Foundation for Life’s EvenStrength program 50 minor hockey players will be skating on the Saddledome ice alongside Calgary Flames defenceman Mark Giordano and forward Matt Stajan. Giordano and Stajan will be on the ice for the first 30 minutes and off the ice for the last 30 minutes with the minor hockey group split into two.

Dreams Come True is a Hockey Canada initiative in which 50 young hockey players will have this year’s minor hockey registration fees provided, as well as a full set of equipment for each player.

On Monday, September 20 each young skater was fitted head to toe with hockey equipment courtesy of Tuxedo Sports.

The two-day event concludes with an evening hockey clinic at the Saddledome led by Hockey Canada, Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada featuring on-ice and off-ice development with two members of the Calgary Flames.

Hockey development and education programs continue to be focal points for Calgary Flames fundraising activities.

In partnership with KidSport Calgary and Hockey Calgary, the Calgary Flames Foundation supports the Flames EvenStrength Program which assists children in the community play hockey.
