After hitting the double-digit goal mark on the season on Wednesday, Alex Chiasson could find himself back in familiar territory on the first line.
If Micheal Ferland is sick and can't play this evening, Chiasson will skate alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan when the Flames welcome the L.A. Kings to the Scotiabank Saddledome tonight at 7:30 p.m. (SN1, SNW, SN960).
Given his recent offensive production, the promotion is warranted. The winger has two goals and three points in his last four games, bringing him to 10 goals and 19 points on the year.
With his experience with the pair and his play of late, he's ready to take on the increased role.
"It's a good opportunity. I've been there before and I'm excited to play with those guys," Chiasson said.
"I just need to play my game."
The Flames come into tonight's game on a high after defeating the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Friday, the 11th win in their last 12 games.
With the hot streak the team find themselves on late in the year, they will look to continue to build on that momentum before they hit the road for a three-game swing next week.
"The atmosphere in the locker-room is great," Chiasson said.
"It's what makes us dangerous. We're ready for this one."
