NHL Central Scouting has released its annual Players To Watch list for the 2020-21 season.
The list rates draft-eligible players from North America and Europe on a three-tier scale: A indicates a potential first round selection, B indicates a potential second or third round selection, and C indicates a potential fourth, fifth, or sixth round selection. It will be updated throughout the season as NHL scouting staff evaluates players.

One Calgary Hitmen player is on this year's initial list, with Sean Tschigerl being ranked as a C-rated candidate ahead of the start of the WHL season.
The 6-foot, 181-pound left winger played 56 games for the Hitmen in 2019-20, scoring four goals and 13 points. The Whitecourt, Alta. product was drafted by Calgary fourth overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. Prior to his WHL career, Tschigerl was a part of the OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep squad, where he posted 31 goals and 70 points in 30 regular season games in 2017-18.
"He's the leader of his team," Director of Player Personnel Dallas Thompson said at the 2018 draft. "He led them to the championship final this year and helped them win it all. In that game he was the best player on the ice."
"He takes over games no matter if his team is up or down. He made a statement in every game he played."
The WHL has announced Jan. 8, 2021 as the scheduled start date of this season. The league continues to work with each of the Governments and Health Authorities in the Provinces and States in Western Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, respectively, on obtaining the necessary approvals to commence play. Details regarding the schedule of games in each of the four WHL Divisions will be announced at a later date.
