CALGARY, AB -- On Monday, Calgary Flames head coach Brent Sutter confirmed forward Mike Cammalleri will miss Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens due to an upper body injury suffered in Sunday's game against the Dallas Stars.
"He's not available tomorrow night so he's not playing tomorrow night," the bench boss said. "That's why we called three guys up - because we need three forwards."
Lance Bouma was also injured in Sunday's game while Blake Comeau is out with an upper body injury he sustained on Friday in Anaheim. Guillaume Desbiens, Krys Kolanos and Greg Nemisz were recalled on Monday in response to the string of injuries.
"Those three guys coming in ... they're going to have to respond the right way and bring us what they can bring us. The other nine forwards are going to have play at the level they need to play at.
"Attitudes are very important right now and making sure that we're fully engaged, each individual, the way we need to be at this time of the year for our team to have some success."
Alex Tanguay expressed his dismay not only for Cammalleri's absence in the lineup but for the forward having to miss playing his former team for the first time since he was traded by the Habs earlier this year.
"Obviously when you play them for the first time, there's a lot more adrenalin, a lot more emotion. As a team, we certainly could have fed off of that."
In 21 games with the Flames this season, Cammalleri has six goals and 11 points.
