Calgary Inferno select 12 players in 2016 CWHL Draft

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Inferno selected 12 players in the 2016 Canadian Women's Hockey League Draft, which took place on Sunday in Toronto.

The Inferno, who captured the 2016 Clarkson Cup, took Harvard goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer with their first round selection. The Bruderheim, AB product captured silver with Canada at the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship in Kamloops, BC this past spring. She posted a 1.25 GAA and .956 save percentage in four appearances and was named the tournament's top goaltender.

Maschmeyer also won silver at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship and gold at the 2012 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship, making 28 saves in Canada's 3-0 win over the USA in the tournament's final game.
