Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames are teaming up with United Way this Christmas week.
Flames players will be participating in a workshop on December 21 assisting students grades five and six from Silver Springs Elementary School, as well as youth from the Ronald McDonald House assemble “cozy cases” to be distributed to children in need this holiday season and throughout the year.
The “cozy case” concept is a community project of the students where pillow cases are stuffed with comfort items and treats for children in emergency situations.
On Wednesday, December 23the Flames will be saluting United Way in-game as they take on the St. Louis Blues.
The first 4,000 people to the game will receive United Way/Calgary Flames red hands and fans will have the chance to purchase United Way gift cards on the concourse during the game.
United Way gift cards are life-changing gifts that will support Calgarians where and when they need it most. Proceeds from the game’s 50/50 draw will also benefit the United Way.
