CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospect Laurent Brossoit has been invited to the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence goaltending camp in Calgary, running from June 7th to 10th.
The camp is the first step in evaluating the talent in net for the 2013 World Junior Championship, allowing scouts to get a solid look at prospective netminders for the tournament.
Hockey Canada will also use the camp to get a read on potential goaltenders for the summer U-18 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament.
"We have had terrific success with this camp in its first six years, and we are excited to have Canada's best young goaltenders work with some of the top instructors in the game," Brad Pascall, Hockey Canada's vice-president of hockey operations/national teams told NHL.com. "We want to give these young goaltenders every opportunity to develop and prepare for international competition, and we feel this camp is a step in the right direction."
