Brodie, Bennett doubtful against Blues

by Aaron Vickers / Calgary Flames

CALGARY, AB -- Defenceman TJ Brodie and forward Sam Bennett are doubtful to play when the Calgary Flames host the St. Louis Blues on Monday.

Bennett left the second period, and Brodie in the third period, of Calgary’s 3-2 overtime win against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday because of mid-body injuries.

Each missed the Flames’ 4-1 loss against the Arizona Coyotes on Friday.

“They’re doubtful for tomorrow,” Calgary coach Bob Hartley said. “Bennett is definitely out. [Brodie] is doubtful.”

Brodie is fourth in team scoring with 40 points in 58 games. Bennett, 19, has 15 goals and 32 points in 66 games.

Goaltender Joni Ortio will make his fifth consecutive start in net. Ortio has allowed two goals in six of his past eight starts, and is 2-7-3 with a 2.94 GAA and .898 save percentage in 13 games played this season.
