SYLVAN LAKE, AB -- Defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon will likely return to full practice within the next week, according to head coach Bob Hartley.
"He's started kind of friendly contact drills ... skating with the injured guys," Hartley said after the morning skate at the Sylvan Lake Multi-Plex. "Our medical staff should ramp him up in the next couple of days to full contact.
"If there's no setbacks, you should see him skate with the big team in, I would say, five to seven days."
Wotherspoon is coming off his first professional season which saw him play 48 games with the Abbotsford Heat in the AHL and 14 games with the Flames. During his cup of coffee in the NHL, the 21-year-old registered four assists.
The rearguard was drafted in the second round, 57th overall, of the 2011 NHL Draft.
