Andersson named OHL's Defenceman Of The Month for January

CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospect Rasmus Andersson has been named the Ontario Hockey League's Defenceman Of The Month for January.

The rearguard, who was selected in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft, put up 17 points in 13 games last month and currently sits first in league scoring among defencemen with 45 points in 45 games this year.

The Flames inked Andersson to an entry-level deal on Sept. 14, 2015. The 19-year-old is in the midst of his second season with the Barrie Colts in the OHL.

17 The Swede had 17 points -- all assists -- last month.
5 Andersson recorded five multi-point games in January. His highest single-game total was three assists on Jan. 15 against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
