About Last Night: Home Streakin'

by Paul Mawdsley / Calgary Flames
CALGARY, AB — The Calgary Flames are officially streaking.

With last night’s 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks, the Flames have now won three games in a row and seven straight at the ‘Dome. A regulation win! Cookies for all. Also, this photo is perfect. #flames The victory pushed the Flames to within four points of second place in the Pacific Division. And they hold at least one game in hand on all three teams directly above them in the standings. It's hard to imagine after the start the Flames have had that they are winthin striking distance of a playoff spot. But there's still plenty of work ahead. The Flames started the party early last night with a goal by Markus Granlund 1:45 into the first period. After Chris Tierney tied the game, Monahan tipped home a beauty on the power play to give the Flames a lead. #TipDrill

The Sharks would tie the game and put pressure on the Flames, but goaltender Karri Ramo would come up big!

Johnny Gaudreau was looking to extend his 9-game home point streak last night. It looked as though he had done just that, but a caoches challenge revealed the play was offside prior to a B-E-A-Utiful goal that was set-up by Johnny Hockey.

Michael Backlund put the icing on the cake with a rocket from the slot!

Also, Backlund became a fireman last night.
