Hey! It's been a good few days in camp with practices and a scrimmage!
I think every time I get on the ice I get a little more comfortable and I play a little better. With our scrimmage yesterday, it was good to get out there and actually play - no drills, just getting out there and going hard. I really enjoyed that and I think I did well in it.
The biggest thing I've noticed here is the tempo of the game. Every shift, you're going 110%. It's a grind every single shift. You're always doing something, you're always trying to make something happen. You go out there for 30 or 40 seconds a shift and you're tired. That's the main thing you notice when playing with these guys - the up-tempo style of game.
Last night we had a nutrition seminar and I learned a lot from that. Nutrition is one thing I'm really working on because I need to gain muscle and build up my strength. I paid close attention and I picked up a lot of good things from that session.
Tonight we're going to the Stampede. I'm definitely excited to go and watch the chucks. That's going to be a great experience. I've went once before but I was really young so I don't remember a lot from it. I'm really looking forward to going with the guys, just hang and enjoy the evening.
Calgary has been great to me so far. Some people have even come up and said hi, congratulations, good luck. Everyone has been great - the whole organization, the fans, the coaches. It's been an amazing experience so far!
