The Flames earned a pair of points in a dominating 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. Sam Bennett, Mark Jankowski, Mark Giordano, Sean Monahan, and Dougie Hamilton scored, while David Rittich stopped 25 of 26 shots on net … The two points gives the Flames 76 on the season and has them sitting three points back of the LA Kings for the second Wildcard spot and four points back of the Anaheim Ducks, who are third in the Pacific Division ... Monahan's goal gave him 30 on the season. This is his second 30-goal campaign in his career, with the last one coming in the 2014-15 season when he scored 31 times ... With a pair of points against the Sabres, Johnny Gaudreau moved within a point of the league lead in road points with 44. He sits behind only Nikita Kucherov, who has 45 road points this season.

The Senators picked up a point on Thursday night, losing 4-3 in a shootout to the Buffalo Sabres. Ryan Dzingel scored twice for Ottawa, with Thomas Chabot tallying the other marker … Mark Stone leads the Senators in scoring with 20 goals and 62 points in 57 games. A sixth-round pick by Ottawa back in 2010, Stone has 249 career points in 306 skates … Karlsson is one of the games most utilized players, sitting tied for third in the NHL with an average time on ice per game of 26:31.

The defenceman netted a pair of assists against the Sabres on Wedesday night. The Chatham, Ont. native now has three points in his last two games, bringing his season total to 32 points in 68 games.

Senators: RW Mark Stone

Stone has been red hot for the Senators, scoring at least one point in each of his last 10 games. During that stretch, he's recorded 15 points, scoring two goals and 13 assists. On the year, the winger has 20 goals and 62 points in 57 games.
