2006 Entry Draft: Flames nine picks

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames are set for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft scheduled for this Saturday, June 24th in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Vancouver Canucks play host to this year's draft featuring seven rounds and a total of 213 picks. All seven rounds will take place beginning at 4 p.m. (MST) on Saturday. The Flames have a total of nine picks in the draft.

  • Flames acquired Washington's seventh round choice, 187th overall, for Chris Clark

The Flames first round choices over the past five NHL Entry Drafts include Matt Pelech (26th overall in 2005), Kris Chucko (24th overall in 2004), Dion Phaneuf (9th overall in 2003), Eric Nystrom (10th overall in 2002), Chuck Kobasew (14th overall in 2001) and Brent Krahn (9th overall in 2000).
