The Ducks announced on Tuesday that they have reassigned center Petteri Wirtanen and right wing Jason King to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).Wirtanen, 21 (5/28/86), scored one goal (1-0=1) with two penalty minutes (PIM) in three games with the Ducks. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 17 against Nashville, scoring his first career goal in the third period of a 3-1 Ducks victory over the Predators. Originally selected by Anaheim in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Wirtanen made his North American debut in 2006-07 with Portland. In 67 games with the Pirates, the Hyvinkaa, Finland native recorded 7-11=18 points with 40 PIM.King, 26 (9/14/81), appeared in four games for Anaheim, going scoreless. The Corner Brook, Newfoundland native is currently tied for third among AHL leaders in goals scored (5). He has collected 5-2=7 points with four PIM in six appearances with Portland this season.King was acquired from Vancouver with a third-round selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for center Ryan Shannon on June 23, 2007. He spent the 2006-07 regular season with Skelleftea of the Swedish Elite League, earning 15-4=19 points with 20 PIM. The 6-0, 193-pound winger has appeared in 57 career NHL contests, collecting 12-11=23 points with eight PIM. He was originally selected by Vancouver in the seventh round (212th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
