With a variety of age groups and style categories, 91 rinks will be represented at the ISI World Team Recreational Championships. In addition to U.S. skaters, countries such as China, the Philippines, Thailand and Mexico will be represented at the THE RINKS. There is no age limit for competitors, with participants as senior as 88 years of age taking part in the World Team Recreational Championships. THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE’s very own ICE’Kateers Synchronized Skating Team will be competing next week in their hometown.
In addition to the competition, the 2013 ISIA Education Foundation Benefit on Ice Show will take place on Friday, July 26 at THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE (7:30 p.m.). The show will feature 2011 U.S. National champion Ryan Bradley as well as participants from the competition throughout the week, selected to perform at the benefit by a scouting committee. Tickets for Friday evening’s benefit show are $30, while all other World Team Recreational Championship events at Anaheim ICE, Westminster ICE and Lakewood ICE are free and open to the public.
Launched in February 2009, THE RINKS Development Program presented by Honda now consists of seven local skating facilities operated by the Anaheim Ducks: four ice rinks (THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE, THE RINKS - Lakewood ICE, THE RINKS – Westminster ICE and THE RINKS –Yorba Linda ICE), as well as three inline facilities (THE RINKS – Huntington Beach Inline, THE RINKS – Irvine Inline and THE RINKS – Corona Inline).
