Skills Showdown is this Saturday

The Ducks will hold the 2011 Skills Showdown this Saturday, Jan. 8 following the club’s practice at Honda Center. The event is free to season seat holders (ticket was provided in preseason mailing) and $10 for the general public. The Skills Showdown is slated to begin at 11:45 a.m. following the Ducks practice (doors for the general public will open at 11:15 a.m.).

Anaheim Ducks players will take part in a lively six-event interactive skills competition in front of their fans. Players will participate in the Control Relay, Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Shooting Accuracy, Power Play and Break Away Relay. Ducks radio and television personalities Steve Carroll, Kent French and Brian Hayward, along with junior Ducks correspondent Tim Marchant will serve as emcees for the Skills Showdown. Seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis. Concession stands on the plaza level will be open throughout the Skills Showdown.

Season seat holders will have special access to the Ducks practice taking place at 10:30 a.m., with doors opening at 10 a.m. In addition, Ducks Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray will speak exclusively with season seat holders at 11 a.m. and participate in a question and answer session.

Tickets for the 2011 Anaheim Ducks Skills Showdown are currently available for purchase at, by phone with Ticketmaster at (714) 703-2545 or in person at the Honda Center box office. In addition, any fan who purchases a full-price ticket (at or at the Honda Center box office) to tonight’s contest vs. the Nashville Predators at Honda Center (7:05 p.m.) will receive a free ticket to Saturday’s Skills Showdown (excludes Team Exchange purchases).
