Selanne to be Honored

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
Right wing Teemu Selanne will be honored in a pre-game ceremony prior to Sunday's game in recognition of his recent milestones.

Selanne will be recognized for recently breaking the franchise scoring record and collecting his 600th NHL assist. The Ducks will present the Finnish Flash with gifts from the organization commemorating his milestones.

In just his seventh game after returning to the Ducks for the remainder of the 2007-08 season, Selanne recorded his 670th career point in an Anaheim uniform on Feb. 17 vs. Calgary. The point came in the form of an assist on a goal scored by center Ryan Carter. Selanne’s 323-362=685 career points as a Duck surpass Paul Kariya’s previous record of 300-369=669. He is the Ducks’ all-time leader in points, goals, power play goals (117) power play points (277), game-winning goals (53) and plus/minus (+116).  Selanne reached the 600-assist milestone on Feb. 24 vs. Chicago at Honda Center in a three-goal, five-point effort (3-2=5), matching his career high for points in a game.
