Selanne 'Possibly' Playing Tonight

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
Ducks forward Teemu Selanne says he is "100 percent" recovered from a lacerated quad muscle injury suffered last Dec. 19 in Edmonton. But he would only go so far as to say he "possibly" will play tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks at Honda Center.

Selanne skated this morning during an optional workout that included a dozen other Ducks players and looked to be moving well on the ice. He told reporters it was his best skating day since he started back on the ice after recovering from the injury for the last five weeks.

"Injury-wise, I'm 100 percent," Selanne said this morning. "The last stage is going to come by playing games. I think I'm in that stage."

Ducks coach Randy Carlyle wouldn't indicate whether tonight's lineup will include Selanne, who remains the league leader in power play goals with 13, despite missing the last 17 games. The Ducks have gone 6-9-2 over that stretch.

"When he says he's ready to play," said Carlyle earlier in the week, "he'll play."
