On Thursday evening, Ducks Ryan Whitney and Corey Perry
delivered 2009-10 season tickets in the Ducks locker room at Honda Center to 12 lucky account holders who were randomly selected among those who renewed their season tickets by March 2 of this year.
After handing out the tickets, the players signed autographs and posed for photos. Prior to Whitney and Perry's arrival, the lucky fans were brought into the locker room, where they found Ducks jerseys with their names on the back and nameplates hanging from various player lockers, in addition to other gifts.
'It kind of left me speechless," said Robert Record, a Ducks season ticket holder since the inaugural 1993-94 season. "It was a wonderful event and it made us feel really good. Everybody was kind of in awe."
Said Kathy Weiermiller, another original season ticket holder, "This is awesome. What a special treat. I'm really glad I was able to come in and do this. I had no idea what it was going to be."
The event was part of a program the Ducks launched for season ticket holders, where they can win an “Anaheim Ducks Experience” that includes a road trip with the team, Zamboni rides, attendance at private club practices, sitting in the penalty box during warm-ups at a game, a Ducks autographed team jersey and hockey stick and more.
"This is kind of what keeps the team and the organization going," Whitney said of the Ducks season ticket holders. "To have these people get a chance to see our locker room, meet a couple of players and for us to meet them is pretty cool."WATCH THE VIDEO
