Ryan Getzlaf posted three points, Troy Terry scored twice and John Gibson notched a 28-save shutout to lead the Ducks to a 4-0 win over the New Jersey Devils on Dia de Muertos Night at Honda Center. The Ducks have won back-to-back games and earned points in four straight contests as well as five of their last six overall (2-1-3).

Terry scored twice and added an assist, extending his point streak to nine games (7-5=12), the longest streak in the NHL this season. The younger winger also has goals in four straight games.
"He's playing with confidence," Gibson said of Terry. "When he's playing with confidence, you can see it in his game. You can see his confidence with the puck...He's put in the work, he's put in the time. Now he's just going out there, having fun and playing with confidence."
Two nights after becoming Anaheim's all-time leading scorer, Getzlaf scored the game's opening goal before assisting on both of Terry's tallies. The Ducks' captain has points in five of his last six games (1-7=8).
Isac Lundestrom also scored for Anaheim, extending his own point streak to a career-best five games (2-3=5) and matching his single-season career high in scoring (2-7=9).
John Gibson stopped all 28 New Jersey shots in his 23rd career shutout.
The Ducks special teams units led the way as Anaheim converted twice on the power play, scored a shorthanded goal and killed all five Devils power plays. The Ducks are tied for second in the NHL in power-play goals (10) after totaling just 11 all of last season.
"Coach [Geoff] Ward has done a great job of identifying what the other team is doing and giving us options off of that," Kevin Shattenkirk said. "The main thing we've got out there and done is compete. We're making sure we're winning loose puck battles, faceoffs and all those things to keep possession...Because of that, we're getting results."
"They understand last year has nothing to do with this year and yesterday has nothing to do with today," head coach Dallas Eakins added. "It doesn't surprise me that they've rebounded. They're producing, playing well and playing away from the puck. They're the drivers of our team right now."
Getzlaf got the Ducks on the board early with a booming blast from the point. With Dougie Hamilton in the box for slashing, Cam Fowler sent the puck to Getzlaf at the right point. Getzlaf took his time before deciding against a pass, hammering a slap shot through a screened Jonathan Bernier for his first goal of the season.

"He put the work in in the summer," Eakins said of Getzlaf. "It's like he's rolled back time a little bit here. It's great for him, great for our organization and, most importantly, great for those players in the dressing room."
Terry extended his streak with a power-play goal early in the second period. With the Ducks afforded a five-on-three opportunity, Getzlaf took advantage of an ailing Devils defender, zipping a cross-ice pass to Terry for the one-timer that the winger didn't miss.

The goal officially moved Terry past Alex Ovechkin and Connor McDavid (eight games) for the longest scoring streak in the NHL this season. Terry is also the first Duck with a nine-game point streak since 2014.
With his nightly point already out of the way, Terry decided to double-down, beating Bernier again to give the Ducks a three-goal cushion. Terry collected a stretch pass from Getzlaf at center ice, sprinting ahead on an odd-man rush with Adam Henrique. The red-hot winger sold the pass with a head fake and took advantage of an unsure goaltender, firing a wrist shot between Bernier's legs for an important insurance goal.

Lundestrom capped the scoring with a third-period shorthanded goal. Derek Grant dug a loose puck off the wall before tapping it along to Lundestrom in the slot. Lundestrom turned his back on the goaltender, directing a no-look backhand bid past Bernier's pad and just inside the post, putting the Ducks ahead 4-0 with just under 13 minutes to play in regulation.

"Lundy is always going to be one of those guys on our team who is quietly going about his business at a very high level," Eakins said. "He may not show up on the scoresheet with a couple of goals or a plus-2, but he's great on our breakout and he supports the puck in the middle...The kid's development has been incredible."
Gibson was tested infrequently but was sharp when called upon, denying all 28 Devils shots to secure a 4-0 Ducks win.
"We're working on the right fundamentals in our game," Shattenkirk said. "It only works if guys buy in and want to do and that's what matters the most."
The Ducks continue their four-game homestand on Friday against the Arizona Coyotes. Fans are encouraged to be in there seats early for a special ceremony recognizing Ryan Getzlaf's incredible accomplishment. Tickets are on sale now.
